2019 VW Golf 1.4 TSI. May 4, 2022. #2. I believe golfdave has said VW changed it from 'lifetime' to a fixed km/mileage interval or 5 years. In the VW USA maintenance schedule it just says to inspect the ribbed belt every 40k miles (or 4 years, presumably) so it might just be a wait until it looks worn kind of situation. Remove battery and battery holder. Drain fluid into catch pan removing 14mm drain plug, and 8mm snorkel. If using measure and fill technique: Measure fluid, which should be approximately 4.6L (at room temperature, if car is level, and if DSG has never been serviced before (if serviced it may be less). There is no timing service interval on these motors. Looking at my maintenance manual as we speak.Timing belts, yes. But I see nothing for timing chain service from 40k - 150k. Timing belts like in the earlier MK5 GTI with it's FSI motor, yes. But the EA888.3 runs the revised chain & tensioners that should be life of the vehicle. Keep in mind, if you plan on driving your GTI or Golf R spiritedly, these service intervals will shift. It’s not a bad idea to even half these intervals if you drive like a maniac with lots of track days. I did my 40K mile maintenance at 20K miles which adds to my total cost of ownership. eLBll.
