2007 Fiat Ducato 3.0l ECU problem. In need of some help from a Fiat savvy person. My 2007 Frankia A class won't start. The engine cranks and there is no battery issue. After trying to start, the Vehicle Protection System Failure warning light comes on (its an amber light with a vehicle outline with a padlock) and remains illuminated.
Hope Fiat will check pressure but no oil light on dashboard which I am guessing indicates normal pressure. My engine management light and yellow warning triangle are on all the time along with a message saying check engine and stop start unavailable. But I would have though if it was losing pressure it would say stop engine.

If you use a short cable from battery pole you can test the plugs you took out today. Be CAREFUL glowing is HOT.. @ 600'c. If they glow your problem is unlikely to be the plugs themselves.. But Ive changed MANY old FIAT glowplugs most still glow when tested.. So poor connections are a possibility. Charlie.
If the mixture becomes too rich (meaning there’s too much fuel in relation to the air), the P2196 code is set in the system. This code relates to the sensor found between the engine and the catalytic converter. There’s usually another sensor behind the catalytic converter. Additionally, Bank 1 is found on the same side of the engine with
My Fiat Ducato based campervan has had intermittent starting problems for years now. The starter motor turns the engine over fine but it sometimes just won't start however many times you try! There seems to be no pattern to these problems. Sometimes it won't start from cold, other times it won't start from hot.
Base vehicle is a 3.0 Multijet Ducato, 2011 plate. Started the engine today and got the 'check engine' Warning Light. Had to move to find services and the vehicle seemed fine until reached a long inline. Usually the 3.0 litre powers up inclines easily, but this time it struggled to maintain pace. It reminded me of our old 2.0 litre motorhome.
